Polkerris Beach, St Austell

Polkerris can be found west of the village of Fowey, and can be reached down a winding lane which goes past Kilmarth.  The author Daphne du Maurier had their last home here.

Sheltered by a harbour wall there is Polkerris beach, the family friendly beach, which gently slopes down to the sea. With a variety of wildlife, coastal walks and historical features surrounding the landscape.

There are no lifeguards on this beach at all and there is a seasonal dog ban from Good Friday to 1st October.

There is a large carpark at the top of the road leading to the beach, if you do park there then the road is both slippery, narrow and steep to the beachside area.

If you do drive down to the bottom of the village near the actual beach, to drop someone off, then the road and turning area is quite difficult to navigate.

There is ramped access to the beach, disabled toilets, a shop, a cafe and pub close by.
