Pentewan sits between the town of St Austell and the fishing village of Mevagissey. Pentewan Beach is privately owned by the Pentewan Sands Holiday Park but it is open for the public to use. 

There are toilets and a variety of refreshment facilities to choose from at the Holiday Park which is located behind the beach along with the car park. The Pentewan Holiday Park staff clean the beach on a daily basis. 

Pentewan is a popular family beach offering a great spot for swimming and all other water sports. In addition, a variety of marine wildlife to spot for example dolphins, basking sharks, sealions and sea birds. 

At Pentewan Sands Holiday park they offer a large range of accessible facilities also disabled toilets and a level access from the car park leading to the beach.

There are no lifeguards but there are lifebuoys and an emergency telephone on the beach.

There is a seasonal dog ban from March 1st until November 1st but they are welcome outside of these months.
